Better Essays/Better Resumes

Reduce the agony. You do not have to climb Everest or find a cure for
AIDS to write a compelling essay. In this session we look at “before”
and “after” drafts of actual college application essays and resumes,
and you learn to:

Where Should I Apply?

Mondays, October 22 & November 5, 7- 9:30pm
This 5- hour, 2 evening session provides individualized college counseling in a small group setting. College Mentor Carol Safran helps each participant to identify interests, accomplishments, aspirations and preferences and to examine a range of suitable personal options. Attendance is capped at 6. You will leave equipped with the following:

A personal binder with information compiled on 6-10 college choices that meet your parameters and on courses of study that match your interests.

An understanding of how to pick schools that are “right” for you.

Tools to devise a personal strategy of how many colleges to apply to.
-
An overview of the application process and how to effectively complete it.
-
Skills to assist you in doing further research about colleges on your own.
